Why use a travel planning template?
Well, my friend. Here are four incredible reasons why a travel planning template is a must have for a trip:
You can travel consciously:
When you set daily goals during a trip, it’s easier to prioritize places and activities that align with those ideas. In the end, you’ll feel more satisfied. Traveling with intention helps you maximize opportunities and the place you’re visiting.
Journaling can be therapeutic:
Having a travel planning template lets you put ideas to paper. It’s beneficial especially if you’re struggling about something. The more you write, the better you feel (I know from experience!)
Keep track of the best experiences, places, and moments of your trip:
Travel planning templates allow you to document the best parts of your adventure. You can share these ideas with friends and have a record for future trips.
You’re creating an invaluable souvenir:
My favorite travel souvenirs are the journals I wrote during each excursion. A travel planning template is even better: it adds structure to what you write about. In the future, you’ll have the best memento from the trip - your previous self. It’s the best version of a travel time capsule out there. You’re future self will be over the moon.
So, here you go:
Here’s your very own travel planning template. It’s absolutely free, just because I think you’re pretty cool. Download, print, and enjoy.

🛠 Travel Hack of the Week
I was exploring Reddit’s r/TravelHacks page and found a nice tip: Whenever you stay at a hotel, always take one or two business cards from the front desk.
In case your phone’s battery dies and you don’t know where you are, share the card with a taxi (if it’s not walkable). They’ll know how to drive you back safely.
This is especially helpful if you don’t speak the local language!
If traveling abroad, always proceed with caution when it comes to taxi’s. Always look for a taxi license number either inside or outside the vehicle. All taxi’s need a fare meter, too.
Bonus tip: Do a Google search to know what local taxi’s in the city look like.
🌆 City Showcase
Tromsø, Norway
Numerous countries around the world don the name “Land of the Midnight Sun.” One of them is Norway.
What does Land of the Midnight Sun mean?
A handful of countries (Canada, Finland, Norway, Russia, etc.) have regions that sit above the Arctic Circle. In these areas, a visual spectacle occurs:
During summer months of the year, the sun never sets in these locations. For 24 hours a day you live in a constant sunset. They call this phenomenon the midnight sun and the further north you go the longer it lasts.
Why visit Tromsø, Norway
According to Visit Norway, Tromsø (sounds like Tromssa) is a top destination to enjoy the midnight sun.
Fun note: Tromsø is also a fantastic place to view the Northern Lights!
The city is located on Tromsøya Island and multiple bridges connect to the mainland. During the summer months you can enjoy a golden glow at any hour of the day.
It’s surrounded by gorgeous alpine mountains.
How to get to Tromsø
According to Rome2Rio, the Tromsø is most accessible by plane from Oslo, Norway. Oslo is the countries’ capital. It takes approximately 1.5 hours by plane.
What to do in Tromsø:
• Watch midnight sun soccer: On, July 13, 2024 Tromsø IL will play KFUM Oslo in the Norwegian Eliteserien stadium. This is the very first Norwegian Legue midnight sun soccer match.
• Midnight sun concerts at the Arctic Cathedral. It is Tromsø’s most iconic landmark. The cathedral was built with 11 massive aluminum-coated concrete slabs, looking like enormous sails sticking out of the ground.
• Take a cable car to Mount Storsteinen, with spectacular views of the city.
• Enjoy centuries-old wooden houses in the old centre of the city. Tromsø has neighborhoods full of Empire-style wooden houses. It’s the most of this style in northern Norway.
• According to Visit Tromsø, fjord cruising is very popular. The city is part of an archipelago. You can go on sailing tours to enjoy the natural beauty surrounding Tromsø. Fishing trips along the water are also popular.
