Hi Daniel, I agree with your comments about traveling solo. There are considerations that women need to take when traveling along-- most of them involve using common sense and paying close attention to the surroundings. Thank you for posting another excellent article.
I'm married but I love solo travel, although mine has usually been limited to short trips in France, where I live. I did go to Lisbon for a week last year to take an intensive Portuguese class, and it was a fabulous experience. People who want to travel solo but hesitate might consider that type of experience: enrolling in an activity that will give them daily contact with people without "travelling with people."
I love the idea! Joining an arranged activity with new people is a fun way to venture solo but also create connections. It sounds like you’ve made great use of your opportunities to travel Betty! I’d like to explore more of France. It’s fantastic you live there. Thanks for the comment.
I enjoy traveling solo so much that it is currently my career. I am a travel nurse and have been for three years. I enjoy the heck out of it and every once in a while, friends and family come to visit wherever I’m stationed.
That’s so cool Michelle! I’ve met a couple travel nurses and it seems you get access to the whole world. That’s great you make a positive impact and get to explore. Thanks for the comment.
As a person who has traveled solo, with my husband, with friends and with a group, I totally agree with all your points.
Solo travel is no more dangerous than at home nor is it lonely. Often when traveling solo, we are more aware of our connections and seek new friendships and experiences.
Neat essay on solo travel and the benefits of it, if one cares to embrace them. I think it is an act of courage the first time. Subsequent trips are easier after that. Good post! (and yes, I did know about HI having the tallest mountain. When you start from the deep blue sea--you got plenty of extra exposure!

Thanks for reading and commenting Lois! I’m glad it resonated with you. Awareness is huge, no matter where you are.
Hi Daniel , I think everyone should travel alone once in their life . It’s so enriching ,although as a woman the precautions to take are greater
It’s absolutely enriching! I totally agree with you that a solo trip at least once is worth it. Thanks for reading and commenting!
