Thanks for these tips as my husband and I will be in Colombia soon. I think I will skip learning Regálame as we will be traveling to other countries and I don't want anyone to think im asking for a gift. Hagáme sounds really useful. I hear Con Permiso a lot in Mexico when people pass you in the grocery store.
I'm glad you like them. If you use any of them let me know! Hagáme might be in other countries but not sure. You can say just say "un ____, for favor" and that's totally fine! The "regálame" is what people say but it's not necessary. Thanks for reading, Duwan!
Good one Daniel! Love all the phrases/slang of Colombia. And how cool that you live there 6 months a year. It looks like a beautiful country. What region-area are you in? I'm not familiar w/ it.
Thanks for reading and the comment Jeannine! I'm sure you have a bunch of interesting phrases from your time in Mexico. Colombia is worth a visit! Beautiful country and people. I'm in Huila, which to the south. Neiva is the capital!
Love these! Also noticed how polite people would be. They would say things like “a la orden” or “con permiso” on the street.
Ah yes, "a la orden" is also very common! That's an essential phrase too. Thanks Ashleigh!

Oh yes. And nicknames are big in Mexico too. Everyone has a nickname. My pleasure re reading!
Interesting! I didn't know about nicknames in Mexico. That sounds fun as long as it isn't offensive.
They're usually playful. Not offensive.
