Great list of opportunities to meet locals, Daniel. You’re so right too. It makes for a more immersive travel experience. Good luck with your travel consulting biz on Fiverr.

Thank you for the comment Jeanine. Making friends with locals is essential. I'm sure you have a lot of great local connections down in MX now that you're living there! Much appreciated - the consulting is a total experiment, so let's see how it goes.

I used couchsurfing, I had a great time with it! There is also Trustroots that is Identical but it is free and there is not as many people as it was on couchsurfing. Volunteering is an amazing opportunity to meet a coomunity!

I hadn’t heard of Trustroots! I tried Bewelcome for a bit, but never really met anyone on it

I tried to use Bewelcome too but it didn't work for me, It worked better with trustroots

Bewelcome seems like a good concept, too. I haven't tried it. Only CS. CS was better when it was free IMO but it's still a solid place to meet people. Thanks for reading Ashleigh!

What resources do you use to find volunteer opportunities Flavio? I haven't heard of Trustroots but will check it out. Thanks for the comment!

For volunteering I'm using SCI (Service civil international) I'm volunteering for them where I live and also abroad, last year for my trip to Malaysia I used worldpackers.

Couchsurfing is one of my favorite ways to meet people when traveling. Met so many great friends surfing and hosting over the years 😊
